RESIDENTIAL COLLECTION CARTS

Waste and Recycling containers are provided to homeowners at no cost. Homeowners are responsible for the care and cleaning of all containers. Please contact Coastal Waste & Recycling at 954-840-8998 if your container is damaged. You may not use your own trash can.

Fill carts only to the point where the lids can shut fully. All trash and debris should go inside the cart. If there is any garbage or waste next to the carts, it might not be picked up.

RESIDENTIAL CART PLACEMENT

All containers should be placed at a minimum of 6 feet from any obstructions, including vehicles, mailboxes, light poles, or fences. The handle should be facing your home with the container placed at the curb. It is important to remember that your container must be outside for collection by 7:00 a.m. on your designated collection day and no earlier than 5:00 p.m. on the day before your designated collection day.

Collection time

Your collection time may change from day to day, depending on traffic, the volume of material collected, and possible routing adjustments. If you do not set out your container by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled pick-up day, you may miss your pick-up. The container must be outside by the designated time and positioned correctly at the curb with the handle pointing toward your house, or it cannot be emptied.

Weight limit on pickup

Each trash can may weigh no more than 150lbs due to safety concerns. Any trash can exceed the weight limit will not be serviced.

Container type

The city has issued two (2) Green 96-gallon carts for garbage and yard waste combined (MSW) serviced twice (2x) per week and one (1) Blue 96-gallon cart for single-stream recycling serviced once (1x) per week.
